Santa Maria Valley
The 2010 Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir benefited from warmer fermentation temperatures and more whole cluster fermentation than in previous vintages, lending color, fine tannic structure and body. This Pinot Noir possesses a deep ruby color bursting with intense aromas of black cherry, blackberry, cassis and hints of cardamom. The classic ‘Santa Maria spice’, enhanced by the whole cluster fermentation, accentuates earthy tones with a hint of well-integrated oak in the background and fruit flavors similar to the aromatics. A silky texture and fine tannins linger on the finish with enough acidity and body to support years of cellar aging.
