The challenges of the long, cool 2011 vintage proved to play to our strengths at Presqu'ile. The vintage yielded wines of finesse and balance at much lower potential alcohol than we are used to seeing in the Santa Maria Valley. We always strive for balance and due to the higher stem to berry ratio, the decision was made to slightly reduce the amount of whole cluster so as not to overwhelm the wine with stem tannin. This wine maintains excellent color, fine tannic structure and good body.

More about this wine

Winemaker Notes
Two vineyards and three clones offer complexity and balance. Lush fruit, silky mouth feel and a long finish are all hallmarks of this wine. Carefully selected and sorted fruit is fermented in whole clusters exclusively with native yeast. Use of new French oak is minimal.
