Bien Nacido
With meticulous farming by vineyard manager Chris Hammell, Bien Nacido has earned a reputation for producing some of the best wine grapes in
California year after year. Presqu'ile receives Chardonnay Clone 4 from W-block. With its Elder Loam, a well drained sandy loam derived from
shale and sandstone, the pH of the soil ranges from 5.6 -7.3.
All vines in W Block are trellised to VSP (Vertical Shoot Positioning) and cropped low to maintain the concentration of fruit. Slightly
more acidic than Presqu'ile's other Chardonnay clones, Bien Nacido Clone 4 balances acidity with rich notes of honey, custard,
buttered toast, citrus and hints of tropical fruit.
