Chardonnay Symposium 2012

The 3rd annual Chardonnay Symposium is coming up this weekend and we are excited to be a part of it again this year!  It is a great event that allows you to explore Chardonnay from the vine to the glass.  The weekend is full of great events and we hope you can make it out to join us and share the love for one of the most beloved white grapes in the world!

Kick off the weekend with a "bring your own Chardonnay" BBQ at Sierra Madre Vineyard on Friday followed by an educational panel on Saturday morning.  Wine Enthusiast's Steve Heimoff will moderate the panel and our very own Dieter Cronje will be sitting on the panel along with 7 other great winemakers from the area. Check out this video clip from last year's panel.

The Grand Tasting will begin at noon on Saturday at Byron Winery's beautiful estate in Santa Maria.  You won't want to miss out on a chance to hang out and enjoy the scenery and taste lots of wonderful Chardonnay and fabulous food from local vendors! For more information on the weekends events and for ticket information click here.

Here is a recent article from Wines & Vines to jump start the weekend and get you amped to celebrate Chardonnay! Wines & Vines: Do Chardonnay Wines Show More Terroir

If you can't make it to the Chardonnay Symposium this year we would love to see you in our Los Olivos tasting room, or at some of our upcoming events this summer and fall.  Please visit our website for more information or email us at

May-June Happenings

Hey Presqu'ile Fans!

It has been a while since I’ve reported on the happenings at the tasting room/vineyard and quite a bit has gone down since you last heard from me!

May was a great month for us. We celebrated our second annual May Fais! pick up party with the release of our 2011 Sauvignon Blanc (yes, it is back and available for purchase!), 2011 Rosé, 2010 Chardonnay and 2010 Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir.  The party was held in our Los Olivos tasting room and we were thrilled to welcome a packed house once again.  Bell Street Farm did a fabulous job with the food pairings and there was barely anything left by the end of the night.  Check out what they prepared for us and be sure to stop by Los Alamos and see them! While your down that way stop into our Los Olivos tasting room to try out our new releases.

As many of you may already know, Full of Life Flatbread has opened for Thursday night dinner! We are super stoked to have another night to feed our Flatbread addictions and on May 17th we were honored to kick off their new hours with a Presqu’ile Winemaker dinner.  Chef Brian Collins came up with a ridiculously amazing menu that paired beautifully with our wines.

Construction at the new winery and tasting room is speeding along.  Walls and a roof have gone up and we will be celebrating the next May Fais! there before you know it!

Thanks to our good friend Tim Rogers for the construction photos! He's an avid fisherman and Presqu'ile supporter. Oh yeah, and he kinda helped build everything too. We love you.

We would also like to send a big congratulations out to Jonathan and Lindsey who tied the knot this past weekend!  The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a freakin blast! Cheers to the newlyweds!
